Bring the file
into focus.
Accounting preparation starts long before a finished report. Statements arrive in different formats, receipts need context, and a transaction description rarely explains the full business purpose. Missing information and unresolved decisions need somewhere to live.
Rectify brings that work into one workspace. The aim is to help accounting teams move from original documents to a traceable, reviewable file while keeping professional judgement with the preparer and reviewer.
A next step.
A visible trail.
Apogee shaped the product structure, designed the interface and built the application and backend. Overview, Documents, Review, Transactions, Reconciliation and Working papers give the preparation a clear sequence, with firm settings kept separate.
Administrators, preparers and reviewers have distinct responsibilities. Clients have a separate experience for providing documents and answers, without the complexity of the firm’s internal tools.

The details
stay connected.
Rectify was previously called Sortly. These captures show the current rectify. interface with synthetic example records, taken on 26 October 2026. The interface continues to evolve. Select a screenshot to inspect the complete screen at full size.
Designed to review.
Built to trace.
The interface is supported by a TypeScript application, a React frontend, a Node.js server and SQLite storage. Background processing, access checks, retained source documents and versioned exports connect the screens to the actual preparation workflow.
Optional AI assistance is part of that workflow, with explicit processing controls. Reading a document or proposing a category does not replace the accountant’s review or approval.
Access by responsibility
Firm and client access, role-specific actions and separate approval responsibilities support the work behind each screen.
Source-linked decisions
Original documents, source-row references and recorded corrections preserve context as a file moves through review.
Processing that can recover
Queued intake and background work expose progress, cancellation and retry, with checks intended to prevent repeated imports.
Working papers with a history
Packages preserve a saved revision and its basis. Later edits do not overwrite previously issued package files.
Make complexity
easier to follow.
A warm, restrained palette and readable spacing give dense financial information room to breathe. The overview prioritizes the next useful action, while detailed controls remain available when needed.
Source completeness, accounting treatment, tax, reconciliation and approval are shown separately. A file can be progressing without pretending every decision is finished.
Built. Being refined.
Not yet public.
Rectify is in private release while its workflows, document handling and working papers continue to be evaluated and refined. This case study presents the product and development work; public access is not available here.
Independent accountant validation and broader real-world evaluation remain part of the path to public launch. No accuracy guarantee, measured customer time saving or launch date is claimed.
