How Apogee Ventures collects, uses and protects personal information. Last updated October 6, 2026.
Who we are
Apogee Ventures is an independent software and product studio based in Ontario, Canada. This policy covers apogeeventures.ca and the information you send us by email or through our contact form. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and its fair information principles.
Accountability
Our Privacy Officer is responsible for how we handle personal information and for answering requests and complaints. Contact: [email protected], subject line "Privacy request".
What we collect
- Contact form and email. Your name and email address, and anything you choose to tell us: organization, project details, timeline and budget range.
- Technical data. When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically processes your IP address, browser type and the pages requested so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
We don't ask for sensitive information. Please don't include any in your message.
Why we use it
We use what you send only to reply to you, discuss possible work, and keep a record of our conversation. Technical data is used only to run and secure the website. We don't sell personal information, use it for advertising, or build profiles of visitors.
Consent
The contact form asks for your consent before you send it. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us. We'll then stop using your information, except where we must keep it by law.
Email from us
When you contact us, we'll reply about your inquiry. We won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing or promotional email unless you've expressly agreed to it, as Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires. Any such email would identify us and include a simple way to unsubscribe.
Cookies and tracking
The site does not set cookies or use advertising or tracking technologies. If we measure visits, we use privacy-focused, cookieless statistics that don't identify you.
Service providers and storage outside Canada
We rely on a few providers to run the site and our email. They process information only on our behalf, under their own security and confidentiality commitments:
- Cloudflare hosts the website and runs the contact form.
- Resend delivers contact-form messages to our inbox.
- Our business email provider stores the messages we receive.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces, which means your browser connects to Google's servers.
These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under local law. We choose providers that offer protection comparable to what we'd provide ourselves.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and for up to two years after our last exchange if no work follows. If we work together, project records are kept as long as required for business and tax purposes. We then delete or anonymize the information.
How we protect it
The site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to our inbox and provider accounts is limited to people who need it and protected by strong authentication.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, or withdraw your consent. You can also ask how it was collected and used. Email the Privacy Officer and we'll reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.
If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Incidents
If a breach of security safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm, we'll notify the people affected and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and keep a record of it, as PIPEDA requires.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top.
